Terms of service

Version 1.2 · updated 13 October 2026. The Italian text is the authoritative one; this English version is a courtesy translation.

These Terms govern the use of Lemma, the Ancient Greek and Latin tutor available at lemma.algon.one. By using Lemma and creating an account you accept them. Please also read the Privacy notice and the Cookie policy.

1. Who provides the service

IMANAGER S.R.L., a limited liability company with registered office at Viale Monza 256, 20126 Milano (MI), Italia; tax code and VAT number 10275570967; entered in the Milan Monza Brianza Lodi Register of Companies, REA number MI-2518617; share capital € 26,568.47 fully paid up; certified email (PEC) imanager@legalmail.it; contact email ciao@lemma.algon.one.

In these Terms «we» means IMANAGER S.R.L.; «you» means the person using Lemma.

2. What Lemma is, and what it is not

Lemma helps you read, understand and translate Greek and Latin texts: it analyses forms, shows lemmas and dictionaries, explains sentence structure and cites the sources (dictionaries, grammars, texts) its information comes from. It also offers tools that do not use artificial intelligence: the Authors' Reader, Metre, Core vocabulary, Dictionary, Training.

Lemma uses an artificial-intelligence system and can make mistakes. Its answers are a study aid, not an authoritative source: check them against the texts and dictionaries and, where needed, with your teacher. We do not guarantee that answers are complete, correct or fit for a particular purpose, nor any academic or exam result. Lemma does not replace your teacher. You are responsible for using it in line with the rules of your school, university or competition.

3. Requirements and account

4. The free trial

The free trial includes 4 questions to Lemma, with no credit card, and lasts at most 90 days from registration. When the 90 days end the trial ends and, if you have not chosen a plan, we delete the account and its data (see the Privacy notice). One trial per person is allowed: to enforce this we check email address, network and device, with the tools described in the Privacy notice, and we may refuse a new request. You must not register several times with different details to obtain further trials.

5. Plans and prices

PlanPrice (VAT included)Term and renewal
Monthly€ 14.90 per monthrenews every month until cancelled
Yearly€ 99.90 per yearrenews every year until cancelled
3-month pass€ 34.90 one-offlasts three months and does not renew

How to buy. Choose the plan from the Subscription page. Before any payment we show you the total price, term, renewal and cancellation conditions, and the confirmation button states the obligation to pay. On the payment page we ask you to tick a mandatory box: with it you ask to start the service right away and acknowledge that, if it is fully performed before you withdraw, you will lose your right of withdrawal (article 6). The terms of this article, those on withdrawal (article 6) and fair use (article 7) apply from the moment of purchase.

Payment. You pay by card, through a specialised provider (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.): we do not store your card details and access opens once the first payment has gone through. VAT is included in the price. After each payment you receive the receipt by email; if you need an invoice, write your details to ciao@lemma.algon.one. Failed renewal. If the charge for a renewal fails, your access stays open for seven days: in that time the system retries the charge and we notify you by email, and you can update your card from the Subscription page; if the payment does not go through the plan stops. Renewal and cancellation. Monthly and Yearly renew automatically at the end of the term, at the same price, unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time in two clicks from the Subscription page: the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid and then stops, with no further charges. Price changes. We may change prices for future renewals by emailing you at least 30 days before: if you disagree you can cancel before the renewal.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of the conclusion of the contract, without giving a reason (Arts. 52 ff. of the Italian Consumer Code, Legislative Decree 206/2005). To exercise it send us an explicit statement at ciao@lemma.algon.one (or to the PEC imanager@legalmail.it); you can use the form below. We refund you within 14 days of your notice, using the same means of payment.

Immediate start of the service. Lemma is a digital service that can be used at once. If at purchase you expressly ask to start immediately and acknowledge the consequences, and then withdraw within the 14 days, you will owe an amount proportionate to what you have used of the service up to withdrawal, compared with the full service; if instead the service has been fully performed before withdrawal, and you gave express consent with acknowledgement of losing the right, withdrawal is no longer possible (Art. 59 of the Consumer Code). This request and acknowledgement will be asked of you, with a box to tick, at the time of purchase.

Model withdrawal form (complete and send it only if you wish to withdraw): «I, [first and last name], hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the supply of the digital service «Lemma» (plan [Monthly / Yearly / 3-month pass]) ordered on [date], registration email [email]. Date and signature (if sent on paper).»

7. Fair use

Every plan includes up to 300 questions to Lemma per 30 days and 40 in 24 hours: enough for a whole day of study. Beyond either threshold Lemma keeps answering but more slowly (one question every 45 seconds) and tells you so. At 80 questions in 24 hours or 600 in 30 days questions pause until the window frees up. The check is made before a question is sent, never in the middle of an answer. Reader, Metre, Core vocabulary, Dictionary and Training do not count. On the Subscription page you can see how many questions you have asked. If you need more, write to us: we will talk about it.

Abnormal use. The subscription is personal. If use goes far beyond that of a person studying (automated questions, an account shared among several people, attempts to get around the thresholds) we may suspend the account. Before doing so we write to you by email and look for a solution together, except where the security of the service is at risk.

8. What you must not do

If you breach these rules we may limit or suspend the account, after warning you where possible.

9. Your content

The texts, questions and materials you enter remain yours. You authorise us, for the time and purpose necessary only, to process them to provide the service (store them in your account, index them for search, send them to the providers that generate the answer, as described in the Privacy notice). You warrant that you have the right to use them. You can delete your texts and the whole account at any time.

10. Intellectual property and sources

The software, interface, name and visual identity of Lemma and the organisation of the data belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own study while your access is active. Lemma is built on texts, dictionaries and data that scholars and projects have made available under open licences or that are in the public domain: the list, with licences and credits, is on the Sources and licences page. Lemma's answers that reuse those materials may remain subject to their licences (for example CC BY-SA, which asks for attribution).

11. Availability and changes to the service

We do our best to keep Lemma always available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service: there may be maintenance, provider failures or temporary limits. We may improve, change or remove features; if a change substantially reduces the paid service you bought we will warn you well in advance and, if it is not acceptable to you, you can cancel, in which case we refund the part of the paid period you cannot use.

12. Warranties and liability

If you are a consumer, for the digital service you have the rights provided by law on the conformity of digital content and services (Arts. 135-octies ff. of the Consumer Code): nothing in these Terms limits them. Subject to mandatory rules, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, or academic or exam results connected with errors in the artificial-intelligence answers, which you are required to check. No clause excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or in any other case where the law does not allow it.

13. Term and end of the relationship

You can stop using Lemma and delete the account at any time from the Subscription page. We may suspend or close the account for serious or repeated breach of these Terms, with notice where possible, and refunding the unused paid period if the closure is not your fault. On closure we delete data as set out in the Privacy notice.

14. Complaints and dispute resolution

For a complaint write to ciao@lemma.algon.one: we normally reply within 15 days. If we have not resolved it, as a consumer you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body from the list kept by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy; the European ODR platform is no longer available. Court remedies remain open.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the court of the place where you are resident or domiciled has jurisdiction, if in Italy (Art. 66-bis of the Consumer Code), and you keep the mandatory protections of your country of residence. For non-consumers the courts of Milan have jurisdiction.

16. Changes to the Terms and language

We may amend the Terms for legal, technical or organisational reasons. Substantial changes are notified to you by email at least 30 days beforehand; if you do not accept them you can cancel before they take effect. Using the service after that date counts as acceptance. If a clause is invalid, the others remain valid. The Terms are drafted in Italian; the English translation is a courtesy only and, if they differ, the Italian version prevails.
